‘The Madison’ shoots for a day in Jefferson

‘The Madison’ crew trucks packed into a lot at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Nov. 9.

“The Madison,” a spin-off to the hit television series  “Yellowstone” starring Kurt Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew Fox, and Patrick Adams conducted on-site filming in Boulder on Saturday, Nov. 9.

While Russell, Pfeiffer, Adams, Fox and other prominent cast members were absent from the day’s shoot, Paramount Pictures and 101 Studios, in partnership with film production company King Street Productions, filmed a series of driving scenes on North Whitetail Road from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Throughout the day, the Montana State Highway Patrol secured the road for over 70 cast and crew members before reopening the road to through traffic. 

Prior to the day’s shoot in Boulder, King Street Productions crew members spent more than six weeks in the Three Forks area, completing principal photography. “The Madison,” described as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River Valley of central Montana,” is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
