As a longtime Montana resident, I have followed the political career of Jon Tester for decades. I saw him in a leadership role in the State Legislature, and throughout his career I have seen what he has accomplished. He will get my vote in November to send him back to the U.S. Senate.
He has always been an exceptionally effective advocate for Montanans, especially for veterans and for those in agriculture. Among the topics he has tackled in ag: meat packer consolidation, foreign ownership of ag land, internet connectivity in rural areas, country of origin labeling, and the right to repair farm equipment. Veteran funding and care has been an equal focus, and his seniority has allowed him to rise to Chair of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
I personally have appreciated his responsiveness when I approached him with an IRS issue and again when I asked for his assistance for a family trying to secure the identification and return of the remains of a World War II veteran. He enabled both issues to be resolved.
