Animal Shelter and Care hosts Walk-and-Wag in Boulder

The 2nd Annual Walk-And-Wag fund raising event in Boulder on Saturday attracted many interested visitors – and their human friends.

Cheryl Haasaker from Animal Shelter & Care of Jefferson County was one of the organizers of the event, which featured local musicians, food trucks and several vendors. Haassakker said the event was well attended. “And everybody seemed to have fun,” she laughed. While those music and food  distractions were fine for the owner’s end of the leash, the canine visitors got to take part in their own fun, including walking events covering 1 mile, 5K and 10K courses. Animal visitors were also offered low cost microchipping for identification, as well as savings for spaying and neutering services. 

“And we got to show off the progress on the new building,” Haasaker added.
