August is quite a busy month for the Boulder area with a lot of fun activities for the entire family.
Monday, Aug. 5 – The Rastelli Circus will make an appearance at the rodeo arena at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds/Recreation Park. This is a family circus that showcases an impressive lineup of world class performers, including jugglers, acrobats, comedians and aerialists. This is really a great event for the entire family! Saturday, Aug. 10 is a big day in Basin and Jefferson City. Basin Days includes live music, raffles, cornhole tournament, cake walk, a duck race, street dance, food trucks, vendors and a parade at 1 p.m. A full day of activities in Basin. For more information call the Silver Saddle Restaurant at 406-225-9995. That same day is the 15th annual Kids and Firefighter Day and Community Picnic presented by the Jefferson City Volunteer Fire Department. The fun starts at 11 a.m. Bring the kids to meet volunteer firefighters, tour the fire hall, operate water hoses and extinguishers. Friday, Aug. 23 – A summer Community Celebration at the Clancy Old Red Schoolhouse from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.. Visit with your neighbors at the Jefferson County Library, Museum, Health Department and the Friends of the Library Bookseller. And FREE root beer floats!
Thursday, Aug. 22 – Sunday, August 25- The 40th Annual Jefferson County Fair. “A Fair of the Heart” at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds/Recreation Park in Boulder. Admission to the Fair is free and parking is only $2. The Fair includes 4-H, Live Music, Vendors, Food, Animals, Exhibits, Inflatables, Auctions and of course, the Boulder River Carousel. A great weekend of family entertainment.
Wednesday, Aug. 21 – Sunday, Aug. 25 – The Jefferson County Rodeo Association has a big weekend of festivities at the Fairgrounds.
Wednesday the 21st at 5 p.m. is the Big Rock Barrel Race. Thursday at 6 p.m. the Big Deal in County Rodeo. Admission is free. Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. is the NRA Rodeo. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids and 6 and under admission is free. The Rodeo Parade is Saturday at noon leaving Veterans Park in Boulder and heading to the Fairgrounds. And Sunday at 10 am is NRA Slack.
