JHS track sprints off to strong start in spring season

Jefferson High’ boys track and field team made a big early-season statement, scoring 104 points to win the Red Lodge Classic over a big field in Laurel on Apr. 6.

The Panthers started strong in the sprinting events, Parker Wagner took 6th in the 100 in 11.72, while Mikael Richard was 13th, 11.96, Luke Mondloch 16th, 12.14, Luke Strizich 28th 12.34, Cooper Mikesell 33rd 12.51, Zeke Dove 39th 12.59, Jed Williams 42nd 12.64, and Caleb Morris 46th 12.72. Richard placed 10th in the 200, 24.83, and Dove 19th, 25.60.

In the middle-distance races, Jack Johnson was 9th in the 400, 56.30, and Gavin Phillips 34th, 1:08.52. Aaron French won the 800, 2:01.66, while McKenon Boyd was 8th. 2:12.03, Dylan Mikesell 18th, 2:35.26, and Bridger Marks 34th 2:47.27.
