Mission Statement: The Boulder Kiwanis Club was formed in 1980 to reach the children in our community, with a focus on health and nutrition, education and literacy, and youth leadership development.

Our service projects include:

An annual awarding of scholarships to Jefferson High School graduates who excel in community service, academics and leadership.

The ‘BUG’ Program in the Boulder Grade School. The program encourages students to improve their grades by setting personal goals. A celebration is held when they accomplish their goal.

We acquired additional playground equipment for Centennial Park and we’re planning on upgrades to Eastside Park on E. 2nd Ave. this year.

The annual Easter Egg hunt is organized by Kiwanis. At Christmas, we provide the hams, turkeys, potatoes and gravy, stuffing, and pies for a Community Christmas Dinner and includes visits from Santa and the Grinch.

Our projects are financed from the proceeds brought in from concessions at the Boulder Car Show, the Boulder Music Festival and from selling fireworks, (which pays for the Boulder 4th of July fireworks display). We also have a sportsman raffle every other year.

Ways to volunteer: Assist with setting up and taking down our equipment, sales, cooking, advertising, and organizing at our events.

The Boulder Kiwanis Club meets for breakfast, conversation, and planning on the first and third Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at the Silver Saddle Café in Basin.
