Off to billings

Jefferson High’s basketball teams are on their way to Billing this weekend for the Southern B Divisional basketball tournaments. The Lady Panthers enter with a 19-1 record, their only loss to Columbus in the first game of the year. 

Their first game is at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, against the winner of a play-in game between Lodge Grass and Shepherd. The Panther boys, who took third at the district tournament and have been playing great ball, take on Columbus on Thursday at 1 p.m. Good luck to both teams!

Besides being a beautiful place with great people, Jefferson County is forunate to be midway between Helena and Butte — both of which have great colleges, Montana Tech in Butte and Carroll in Helena, competing in the tough Frontier Conference. Their conference rivals include Providence College up the road in Great Falls, and, further north in Havre,  MSU Northern.
