Our story about the efforts of a citizen group to better control speeding traffic in downtown Boulder prompted lively discussion on Facebook. Some excerpts:

Who will enforce it?

Susan Pasini

The Sheriff’s Office would be the ones to do enforcement, since the City Council disbanded the police department. And the Sheriff’s Office is far too busy to run radar all the time on Main Street.

Michele St. George

Put in a speed bump.

Mike Giles

Maybe we should reinstall the red light on the intersection of Centennial and Main that was taken out in the late ‘70s or so.

Melody Fuller Grant

Putting the street light back up on Centennial and Main might be a good solution.

Or put in a roundabout, which seems to have become a popular (though not to citizens) choice in Billings.

Merle Rea Stevens

Radars don’t work. Elevated crosswalks do.
