As conference grind begins, Hoopsters sweep foes

This is the point in the basketball season when the focus turns to the grind of conference play: Pretty much every Thursday and Saturday for the next month, Jefferson High’s teams will take on rivals from Section 5B, sorting out which teams will be favored with seedings for the post-season.

So far, things look good.

The Panthers traveled to Whitehall on Thursday, Jan. 4, then hosted Ennis on Saturday — and the girls and boys both came away with two wins. The Lady Panthers are now 5-0 in conference competition; the boys are 3-2.
