Vicki Rae Peterson, born May 17, 1951, passed away Dec. 15. She lived in Boulder, where she was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished family member whose life was defined by compassion, dedication, quiet strength, and most of all, her faith in God.

Born to Donald Edwards and Delores Edwards, Vicki carried the values of kindness and service throughout her life. She shared 44 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Eddie J. Peterson, building a life rooted in love, loyalty, and family.

She was the proud mother of four children: her oldest son, Jeremy Braughton; her daughter, Jennifer Wiseman; and her stepchildren, Heather Spankowski and Chad Peterson. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love for them was unwavering. She was also a loving grandmother to six grandchildren — Michael Wiseman, Dylan Wiseman, Austin Wiseman, Brooke Spankowski, Bryn Spankowski, and Sebastian Peterson — and a proud great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren.

Vicki worked for more than 25 years at First Boulder Valley Bank, where she was known for her dedication and the care she showed to coworkers and customers alike.

She gave generously of her time through volunteer work with the animal spay and neuter clinic, the See and Save, the senior center, and the local food bank. Her commitment to helping both people and animals reflected her deep compassion and servant’s heart.

Above all, Vicki cared deeply for others, often putting their needs before her own. She was always there when someone needed help, comfort, or understanding. By God’s grace, she passed peacefully with her beloved husband by her side, along with her daughter and son — a blessing of love and presence that brought comfort in her final moments.

In accordance with Vicki’s wishes, no formal service will be held. A celebration of life will take place next summer, when her family will gather to honor her memory, celebrate her life, and spread her ashes at the family cabin, a place filled with meaning and love.
