Giulio, Dawson, Lewis retake office oaths

Boulder Mayor Rusty Giulio and Council members Drew Dawson and Patricia Lewis retook their oaths of office at City Hall Monday evening, earning new terms without having to campaign, having run unopposed.

Giulio and Dawson began their third consecutive terms, while Lewis entered her second. Giulio, who first took office in late 2017 calling for change, hoped to finish “unfinished business” with the city’s water system improvements. The city approved $2.2 million in June to complete financing for Well Five and related infrastructure improvements.

“Nobody stepped up, so I felt obligated to continue on and try to get it done,” he said.
