Continuous service of 39 years as a bank director should surely qualify Edward Ryan for a spot in the Guiness Book of Records. He was one of the organizers of the Boulder National Bank in 1888and was still there when it was sold to the Butte group in 1927.

But the real Ryan story is a love story of two pioneers of Jefferson County.
