Bernice bus breakdown spurs MHP trivia test

A generally quiet stretch of Interstate 15 near Bernice hosted an unusually lively scene last Friday thanks to the quick-thinking of Montana Highway Patrol.

En route to Butte for a game, the bus of the Helena Bighorns, a junior hockey league team based in the Capitol, suddenly broke down along a curve in the southbound driving lane, forcing traffic into the passing lane to slip past.

In Butte at the time, rather than MHP’s Boulder headquarters, Troopers Will Link and Tristan Eldridge got the call.
