Clancy officer wins top marks

Clancy resident Joshua Plafcan, a Montana National Guard sergeant and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant, ranked among the top performers in a recent four-day test of soldiers’ advanced rifle and pistol marksmanship.

At the 4th annual MT National Guard Adjutant General (TAG) Match, Sgt. Plafcan of I Company, 145th Brigade Support Battalion, placed in the “Governor’s Twenty,” the top 20% of competitors in terms of marksmanship and consistent performance across multiple events.

“I did OK, hopefully I’ll do better in the future,” said Plafcan, who grew up hunting on an Arkansas farm and moved to Clancy about five years ago. “I know I can shoot better.”
