Joann Leu, 92, of Clancy

Joann Marie Leu, 92, of Clancy passed from this world to the next on Oct. 8 due to natural causes. 

Born to Bernice and Ned Debree on Jan. 15, 1933, Joann spent her early years on the family ranch in Birdseye. When she was six, she and her three younger sisters moved with their mother to East Helena after her father passed away. 

During her teen years, Joann learned to cook, sew, grow a garden, and milk a cow.  These skills would put her in good stead for the next season of her life when, at age 17, she met a shy, handsome rancher named Harold. They  eloped on June 6, 1950, and spent 72 years together until Harold passed away in January, 2023.
