A few miles west of Clancy, two water bodies the size of a large classroom hide among thickets of trees and undergrowth next to the town’s namesake creek. If you didn’t know they were there, just east of Kelly Gulch, you’d drive right past and never be the wiser.
These two ponds rank among locals’ preferred fishing destinations – places where cherished memories are made. Jefferson City resident and outdoorsman Bret Lian’s family has been fishing the Clancy Creek ponds for years; both his children caught their first fish there.
“Clancy folk fish up there all the time,” Lian told The Monitor.
