Boulder budget up slightly, nearly balanced

Boulder’s City Council is set to vote next Monday on a city budget that looks much like last year’s — with a few key changes.

At its final public budget hearing on Sept. 8, the City proposed a core budget of $677,323 for 2025-2026, up 1.9% from a year ago. Core revenues were estimated at $586,401, up 3.8%.

City Clerk Rose Perna considers the budget “as balanced as it’s been since I’ve worked here.” The operating deficit of about $90,000 will be funded from the City’s reserves, which totalled $495,793 at the start of the fiscal year.
