With former Rep. Marta Bertoglio becoming state Commerce Director last month, local officials are choosing a new representative for House District 75, which includes nearly all of Jefferson County.
The Jefferson County Republican Central Committee (JCRCC) on Tuesday submitted its top three candidates to County Commissioners: JCRCC chair Terry Churchill, former HD 75 Representative Kirk Wagoner, and former Whitehall School Board Trustee Mark Reinschmidt.
“The major factors that influenced selections were experience, previous activity within the party, volunteerism, and how we believed they would be able to interact and create relationships within the legislature,” JCRCC Member Dan Johnson told The Monitor.
