Local volunteers are finishing up renovations on the new Clancy Community Center, with a grand opening planned for Saturday, June 14, during the Clancy Days celebration.
The Clancy Community Center is the former gym of Clancy Elementary, which built a new school in 1982. The former gym, originally built in 1964, had been used as a storage space until 2023, when a group of Clancy residents began discussing ways to restore the building for community use.
The group began fundraising, arranged for contractors, and outlined plans for a new public gathering space. The committee collected over $100,000 in donations and grant funds to complete the repairs and renovations, including new light fixtures and plumbing upgrades and a resurfacing and repainting of the gym floor.
