County school buses seek drivers

At this month’s Boulder Transition Advisory Committee meeting, Millisa Haas of Harlow’s School Bus Service, which serves Jefferson High School and Boulder Elementary, highlighted the need for more drivers before the start of the school year.

“We’re short, everybody’s short,” said Haas, hoping to hire as many as seven new drivers by late August. “We need to bring in as much help as we can.” 

Harlow’s expects to add a special needs route to Montana City to the company’s existing seven routes, and may need to add one more now that Basin Elementary has entered non-operational status. Also, long-time driver Dale Murdock, who has driven the Boulder Valley route down highway 69 for decades, is retiring.
