Silvonen aces tennis tourney; track rolls

Jefferson High’s girls’ tennis squad traveled to Red Lodge last weekend for a two-day dual tournament.

The Panthers opened against Three Forks, and their number-one player, Bailee Silvonen, defeated Malia Erikson 6-2, 7-6, (7-4) — the first win in what would be an big weekend for Silvonen. Lainey Wilson lost to Violet Donnelly 3-6, 4-6, and Elizabeth Weninger lost to Amanda Wilcox 5-7, 6-4, (5-10), Myle O’Neill won 6-2, 6-2, and Cassidy White lost to Dawson Peterson 4-6, 3-6. In doubles play, Elizabeth Hansen and Bailee Silvonen Defeated Kerwin Clayburn and Tommy Become 6-4, 7-5, while O’Neill and White lost 4-6, 5-7.

Against Forsyth, Silvonen won 6-3, 6-2, Weninger lost to Bree Straub 2-6, 2-6, Lainey Wilson lost to Iva Setnic 2-6, 3-6, and the doubles team of  Hansen and Teagen Silvonen lost a tough one 6-7, (8-10), 7-6, (2-10).
