In a meeting without enough members to make a quorum, the Boulder Development Fund Board heard a list of suggested short term projects but made no decisions on which, if any, would be pursued. The group agreed to consider the list at its January 3 meeting.
The BDF Board was formed o oversee the $500,000 economic development grant approved by the state legislature and make recommendations to the city council for the distribution of those funds.
The group discussed a desire to have a list of projects that can be started as soon as possible and completed in short order with volunteer assistance.
Before the January 3 meeting, anyone interested in helping to carry out any of those
suggested short term projects, or in suggesting another project to be considered, is invited
to notify Tom Harrington of that interest at tom.harrington@montana.edu.
Following is a list presented to
the BDF Board:
• recreational fish pond;
• determine City of Boulder boundaries;
• parks/ballparks upgrade (creation of park board);
• parking lot;
• town signage;
• Main Street landscaping;
• street lights/trash cans/benches along Main Street;
• Veteran’s Park upgrades (restrooms, pavilion);
• Boulder swimming pool upgrade;
• information center at a rest area (if rest area proceeds);
• other suggested projects.
In addition to the list, prepared with input from a BDF work session by Bruce Binkowski and LaDana Hintz, the BDF heard a recommendation that a subcommittee form for each project to come up with a plan and cost estimates. The January 3 BDF meeting, open to the public, begins at 6:30 p.m. at Boulder City Hall.
