Panthers take fourth place at state Class B tournament BEST FINISH IN 29-YEAR HISTORY OF PROGRAM

The Jefferson High volleyball team stood out and did themselves proud at the State Class B Volleyball Tournament in Bozeman last week. For the first time in the 29 years that JHS has been competing in volleyball, the Panthers won a match at the big event – two, in fact.

As they made their way to a fourth place finish, they defeated the number one seeds from the northern division and the western division and gave the other number one seed a run for its money. They also recorded the largest upset of the tournament, coming in as a number four seed to show those other teams what it means to be a JHS Panther.

With 40 Class B schools competing in volleyball, it is a great accomplishment to earn one of the eight state tournament berths. Going through district, divisional and state in three consecutive weekends of really tough play tests the limits of any team. And finishing in fourth place for the entire Class B is a feat to be admired.
