JHS Happenings in September

The first month of the school year has been busy with many activities. The school year has begun with 272 students, another 30-plus increase from last year. 

Training sessions for the Olweus program have started with the entire staff, and the subcommittee has met twice. During the month of October, a survey will take place for all students and the data will be used for the small group sessions that will occur monthly. 

The school year has also started providing assistance during the eighth period for ACT Prep and math assistance. Currently, ACT prep occurs on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday with the subject of Science and Math. Additional math assistance occurs with the use of EdReady, an online support curriculum through the Montana Digital Academy. Later this fall, the math faculty and administration will visit Corvallis High School to learn about how they have implemented EdReady in the regular math classes and the success they have experienced.
