Panther cross country takes on large field of runners in Missoula

The Jefferson High cross country runners faced a very large field at the Mountain West meet in Missoula Saturday. Nearly 650 boys and more than 450 girls competed on a beautiful day for running.

The JHS boys ran in the JV race, and Hunter Henschel led the Panthers with a 97th place finish in 19:48. Andrew Johnson was next to cross the line in 188th with a time of 21:15. Gabe Gilmore (197th in 21:26), Hunter Gilbert (231st in 22:12), Noah Anspach (237th in 22:17), Drew McManus (241st in 22:22), Alex Wise (255th in 22:43), Christian Davis (515th in 23:30), Brendan Gallagher (532th in 23:57), and Dominick Davis (561st in 24:36) rounded out the JHS finishers.

In the girls JV race Abbie Suppala took 268th, with a time of 26:45, Emme Rosenbaum was close behind in 271st at 26:48, and Renee Yu cross the finish line in 368th in 29 minutes flat. This week the runners compete in the 7 of 7 Meet in Helena on Thursday.
