The following cases were heard in Jefferson County’s district courtroom in Boulder September 6.

Adam N. Faulkner appeared in court on allegations he assaulted a worker at Faulkner’s Cook Street home in Boulder. Faulkner allegedly used a hatchet against Jesse Helmer, who was grouting river rock on the home. Helmer suffered minor injuries in the attack, law enforcement officials say. Faulkner entered a not guilty plea September 6 to felony assault with a weapon. Bond was set at $5000. Faulkner was ordered not to leave the state without court permission, not to associate with felons or probationers, not to possess alcohol or dangerous drugs, not to possess a firearm or weapon, and not to associate with victims or witnesses.

Garrett Hamilton of Helena entered a not guilty plea to drug charges. Law enforcement officials allege he was in possession of methamphetamine when pulled over on the traffic stop on Interstate 90 August 11. He is charged with felony possession of dangerous drugs, felony possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and driving without insurance. Bond was set at $10,000 and Hamilton was ordered to avoid leaving the state, felons or probationers, alcohol and drugs, victims or witnesses and to drive only when it is legal to do so. He was also ordered to submit to random drug tests.

Lonnie Stout, Jr. of Butte told the judge he is not guilty of drug and drug paraphernalia possession. Law enforcement officials say he was a passenger in a vehicle in Whitehall driven by a woman without a valid driver’s license. When the vehicle was stopped, officers found Stout was wanted on a warrant out of Helena. Drugs and a glass meth pipe were found in the vehicle, prosecutors told the court. Stout was released on his own recognizance pending further court action. He was ordered not to leave the state, associate with felons or probationers, possess alcohol or illegal drugs, and to submit to random drug tests.

Jay Robertson was sentenced in connection with a fight in a Whitehall parking lot in May. He was sentenced to three years for felony assault on a police officer, with imposition of the term deferred. For aggravated DUI, a misdemeanor, Robertson was handed 12 months in jail with all but 48 hours suspended. He was given credit for 76 days already served and ordered to pay a $1000 fine plus court fees and surcharges.

Lacy Camay Gransberg of Helena was sentenced to 4 years for felony theft. Imposition of the sentence was deferred on conditions and made concurrent with court orders in Richland County. She was also fined $1000. She previously admitted taking items from the Montana City home of her uncle in January. Law enforcement officials said Gransberg and her partner Christopher Gransberg took firearms, a floor jack, a chainsaw, and a camera and lenses. Christopher Gransberg has admitted felony theft and is awaiting sentencing.
