Classics shine at Boulder Chamber car show

Seventy-three classic cars rolled into Boulder Saturday for the 25th annual Boulder car show. Throughout the day, admirers strolled through the rows of cars filling Veteran’s Park, choosing their favorites, examining the power under the hood, and recalling when they or a big brother had one of those cars in high school. The People’s Choice award went to Bob Pierson of Helena for his 1934 Chevrolet Phaeton. The coppery red stunner with black roof and running boards prompted many oohs and aahs from passersby. That vehicle will be featured on the 2018 car show award plaques. Ten other cars at the show won sponsor awards, including two from Boulder and three from Clancy. Those winners: 

First Boulder Valley Bank #1 – Ron Smartnick (Boulder) 1970 Chevy Chevelle 

NorthWestern Energy #1 – Dean Hersey (Boulder) 1957 Ford Thunderbird
