Clancy’s Old Red Schoolhouse hosts day filled with activities

The Jefferson County Museum and the North Jefferson County Libraries are sponsoring a wide range of educational and entertaining events for this year’s annual Clancy’s Day celebration on Saturday, June 10. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., a jam-packed schedule of activities are planned for both inside and outside at Clancy’s historic Old Red Schoolhouse. 

Outside on the lawn, the public is invited to learn the techniques of gold panning, soap making, puck branding, and pottery. Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy delicious samples from the day-long Dutch oven cooking demonstrations. Live foot-stompin’ oldtime country and gospel music can be enjoyed on the side lawn from 12:30-2 p.m. Plus, there will be hourly raffles and prizes at the Old Red Schoolhouse booth. Or stop by the Book Cellar in the Old Red Schoolhouse to fill a bag of with your choice of gently used books for only $2, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
