Eating delicious food for a good cause. That’s what was on the menu Sunday, June 25, when the Friends of the Library served up their annual International Food Fest at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Ten countries were represented with tables festooned with decorations and featuring a main dish and dessert typical of the country’s cuisine. Volunteer cooks provided sample-sized delicacies to people attending. Countries featured were Cuba, Ghana, U.S.A., Germany, Switzerland, Norway, China, Zimbabwe, South Africa and England. According to Ellen Rae Thiel, organizer of the annual event, attendance was up and the fundraiser was a success.
