Woman charged with attempted deliberate homicide in northern Jefferson County incident

A woman who claimed self-defense has been charged with felony attempted deliberate homicide after a May 3 incident on Grouse Ridge Road in northern Jefferson County. 

Courtney Norman initially said she had run over her boyfriend after he tried to shoot her. She claimed she had discovered he was cheating on her and when she tried to leave she hit his truck, leading him to get a gun. That story did not hold up under investigation, though, law enforcement officers said. 

When deputies reached the home, the boyfriend was in the location where he had been run over, suffering from several broken bones, including a femur. The gun described by Norman was not near the victim, they said. A search found it where he said he kept it, in a case upstairs.
