A newly created road entering the Boulder cemetery will be a topic of discussion at the May 24 Boulder City Council meeting. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. The new road enters the cemetery from the west instead of the south, where the old road enters.
According to Mayor Gary Craft, the land on both sides of the old entry road was previously owned by Ron Fuller and was sold to Chad Bullock. Recorded documents on that land show no easement for the old road, even though it has been in existence for decades, he said. Craft said he was approached by Bullock’s representatives and asked whether they could move the road so pivot irrigation could be installed on the land split by the old road. They proposed creating a new road on the edge of Bullock’s property.
The mayor said he told them he had no authority to tell them they could not build a road on their own land but said any plan to eliminate the existing cemetery road would have to get approval from the city council. The new road is in place now along with the old road.
Craft said the matter will be discussed at the May 24 meeting.
