JHS students learn about governing

Nineteen Jefferson high students attended the 46th annual YMCA

Youth and Government Session at the Capitol in Helena May 7 through

May 10. Junior Nate Brunett was elected by over 250 students from

across Montana to serve as Secretary of State. Senior Merrell Steketee,

serving in the Senate, was awarded a gold medal for her bill to make

minimum wage equitable in the State of Montana. Hadassah Auch, a

freshman, launched an unsuccessful race for Lieutenant Governor.
