Panther track & field, tennis open ‘25 seasons

Jefferson High’s track and field teams launched their season Mar. 27 at the Snowflake Invitational in Columbus. Both squads placed third among the 12 participating schools, and the chance to compete rather than practice brought smiles to all the athletes.

For the Panther girls, Allie Muffick placed 5th in the 100 at 13.88, and Josie Oxarart was 9th, 14.21. Freshman McKinleigh Doher won the 200 in 28.25, and Peyton Stearns won the 800 in 2:33.59, with Karsyn Dolezal finishing 4th in 2:46.50.

Muffick took 6th in the shot put, 28’ 9”, with Brianna Layng 7th at 28’ 3” and Katie Maus 9th, 25’ 8”. Joslyn Buckley won the discus with a throw of 106’ 0.5”; Maus was 7th at 77’ 4.5” and London Ostby 8th, 75’ 5”. Muffick won the javelin at 118’ 7”, with Buckley 4th, 111 ‘8”, and Layng 6th, 99’ 5”.
