The Jefferson High tennis team met up with a powerful Fairfield team in Boulder Thursday, April 13. The Eagles landed in Panther country on a nice day that turned into a windy afternoon. So far, the Panthers have not had to cancel a meet due to weather, which is good for Montana this time of year. The State Class B girls’ basketball champions from Fairfield proved to be good at tennis as well.

Panther Breanna Rykal took her first game against Mackenzie Rosenbaum 6-4 but then turned her knee and was not able to complete the match. JHS #2 singles player Breanna Humphrey lost to Emily Clotfelter 6-0, 6-1, and #3 Antonia Rekke lost to Hailey Mills 6-0, 6-2. Paige Yanzick, playing the #4 slot for the Panthers, was overcome by Jecque Standley 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles Latrice and Leah Vossler of JHS lost to Annie Townsend/Amelia Konen 6-3, 6-3. Laurynn Armstrong and Kylie Marks also fell to their Fairfield opponents Madi Gordon/Tabitha Blockeel 6-0, 6-1. This Friday and Saturday the tennis team will be in Fort Benton for a two-day tournament. On Tuesday the 25th they will be in Townsend and on the 28th and 29th they will be at home hosting a part of the Dawg Bite Tournament. GOLF
