Seven Jefferson High students earned recognition at the State Business Professionals of America competition in Billings March 12-14, and one qualified to compete on the national level. Jeri Copenhaver finished first in the state for Personal Financial Management and will be going to the national competition with teacher Dawn Smartnick. The team of Merrill Steketee, Madi Roudebush, Breanna Humphrey and Abby Rosenbaum narrowly missed qualifying for the national event in Small Business Management. They finished third, one place out of a national qualifying berth. Katy Twichel earned a sixth place in Graphic Design Promotion, and Samantha DeMartin placed ninth for Network Administration using Microsoft. The students were accompanied at the state competition by BPA Advisor Dawn Smartnick.
