Two local banks renamed; officers say same friendly atmosphere will survive

After more than 50 years of serving Boulder and Jefferson County, the First Boulder Valley took on a new name Monday. Both it and the Montana City Bank will now be called Madison Valley Bank.

The two banks, plus another in West Yellowstone, will all be branches of the primary location in Ennis.

The Boulder bank has always been associated with Ennis, ever since it was organized and incorporated in April of 1966. Organizers of the bank were Pete Combs, R.T. “Bob” Smith and Joseph Maitin, all of Ennis.
