The past two weeks have been busy with MAPS testing and homecoming festivities. The “J” was painted and the halls were decorated the Friday before homecoming week to provide more time for homecoming Friday events. It seemed to work better and allowed those students who wanted to participate to do so.
The homecoming activities included a Powder Puff football game, Macho volleyball, a parade, school carnival, community barbecue and wins over Townsend and Whitehall in volleyball and football. JHS also hosted a 7 team volleyball tournament on Saturday.
The JHS and Boulder area communities displayed their true spirit in providing financial assistance to two JHS families with recent hardships and disasters. A big thanks goes out to all who provided help to these families.
The first round of MAPS testing will be analyzed and used as a basis for measuring academic improvements and identifying areas of need that can be addressed through work with the Literacy Grant. This data will also benefit the formation of a new Instructional Framework for Jefferson High School.
A big thanks goes out to Jan Anderson from the Boulder Monitor, the Vosslers from L&P Grocery, and the JHS Booster Club for their continued support and coverage. Thanks for making the 2018 JHS Homecoming a great success.
