Candidates on both sides condemn sign vandalism

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has been asked to investigate vandalism against a pair of large area campaign signs.

Two signs promoting the candidacy of Democrat Bryher Herak for the Montana House were defaced sometime Thursday night. Located near the bottom of the Boulder Hill north of Boulder, the signs were quickly replaced.

Herak said the signs probably cost around $80 each. When the expense of posts and support materials is added in, the cost likely was close to $200. But far more important than the cost, she said, is the disrespect it shows.
