The tale (and the tail) of a well-traveled windmill

A well-traveled windmill now stands in the Boulder Valley, nearly ready to pump water for Chuck and Chris Catherman.

Twelve feet in diameter and 40 feet tall, the windmill started life in 1922 in Cashton, Wisconsin.

“I think the windmill Mr. Catherman has probably came from one we put up on the bluffs above LaCrosse [Wisconsin], because I remember that one was a 12 foot wheel with a 40 foot tower,” Jerome Hundt, son of Hundt Implement founder Frank Hundt told the Cashton Record newspaper in a letter to the editor.
