Justice of Peace hopeful Skogen alleges civil rights violations

A Whitehall man running for Jefferson County Justice of the Peace is in the midst of a federal district court suit alleging law enforcement officials, prosecutors and the State of Montana violated his Constitutional civil rights.

Larry Skogen filed suit in Helena in June 2016 against two sheriff’s deputies, the deputy county attorney who is now the county attorney, and the State. The suit remains open and is scheduled for trial February 4, 2019.
