JHS girls hit the road for Billings divisional

The JHS girls’ basketball team is off to divisional tournament this week. Having placed third in the district 5B tournament the Panthers earned a spot in the Southern B divisional tournament this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Metra in Billings. The eight teams in the tournament will be playing for the top four spots that will qualify for the State Class B tournament in Missoula the following week.

The girls earned their place at the divisional tournament with an overtime win against the Big Timber Herders. The 52-47 Panther victory prompted some heartbreak in Herder country, but also prompted some nice compliments for JHS scoring leader Aubrey McMaster.

McMaster “is just so athletic,” Herder head coach Kim Finn told the Big Timber Pioneer. “She jumps, she shoots, and she’s definitely go the advantage,” Finn added.
