Four area fire departments awarded grant money

Four Jefferson County volunteer fire departments were among 81 organizations across the state sharing $600,000 in grant funds from the Montana Wildlife Relief Fund.

Volunteer departments from Basin, Boulder, Jefferson City and Montana City were all grant awardees.

The fund originated as a partnership between Montana Community Foundation and the Montana Television Network and is dedicated to supporting wildfire relief efforts following Montana’s unprecedented 2017 wildfire season. Launched in early September 2017, the fund has grown to more than $600,000 through the extraordinary generosity of individuals, businesses, private foundations, and many others across the country.
