JHS tennis looks to go big. And they mean big.

JHS tennis has much to celebrate this spring as they kick off their season. For starters, the players are enjoying freshly restored courts following a $137,000 renovation of Boulder’s Glenn Kyler tennis complex. Perhaps even more exciting, head coach Eliza McLaughlin is pregnant and due in early June.

“I will be 34 weeks pregnant at the state tournament, which is ideal, obviously,” said McLaughlin, joking. “But so many people, these kids especially, are stepping up to support me. They do what they need to do, without being asked, and I expect them to do really well this year. Athleticism is what it takes to do well, and we have it.”

The girls’ squad has 12 members, including junior Bailey Silvonen, who took 10th individually at the Class B State Tournament last year.
