Class B football round-up

The Class B football playoffs are down to four teams: Red Lodge, Fairfield, Manhattan and Lincoln County (Eureka) – all of them with unblemished 10-0 records.

Last week, Red Lodge trounced Malta (which had defeated Jefferson a week earlier), 35-6; Lincoln County whacked Columbus, 69-30; Fairfield took Florence-Carlton, 55-20; and Manhattan got past Loyola Sacred Heart 26-7.

This week, Manhattan plays at Fairfield and Red Lodge travels to Lincoln County (Eureka). The remaining four teams are all in the top four in offensive and defensive averages. Eureka leads class B with 47.6 points a game on offense, while Fairfield has averaged 42.1 points a game, Red Lodge 39.7, and Manhattan 38.0. On defense, Manhattan has yielded just 8.3 points per game, Red Lodge 8.9, Fairfield 10.6, and Eureka 11.2.
