Dear Monitor: I have loved you for almost 45 years. I have not always agreed with you. Still, you have been faithful to me, providing me a service at very small cost. I think you have loved me back with photos and stories of myself and many people and their hard work and fun living here.
Recently, the publisher’s note, “Don’t cancel your subscription. Here’s why” (Mar. 26) caught my attention. Yes, I read the opinion pieces mentioned. I enjoyed that, as you wrote, “writers with opposing perspectives were free to say what they wanted” — and have for the past 45 years.
There are also nine other pages in that issue full of important information for our community. Sports, city, county and state news, sports, advertisements, outdoors features. Events! And meetings! When people ask me, “how do you know what is going on?” I say, “don’t you get The Monitor? I read it every week!”
