‘Smack Down in the Big Rock’ volleyball tourney results

Jefferson High School hosted its third annual “Smack Down in the Big Rock” volleyball tournament on Saturday, attracting seven visiting Class B squads from across the state. It was an all-day affair, with varsity teams competing in the high school’s two gyms while JV squads played across Main Street at Boulder Elementary School.

In the end, Colstrip High and Joliet High came out on top of the varsity play, each with 7-1 records. Florence-Carlton finished at 6-2 and Roundup and Choteau tied for third at 5-3.

As for the host: There was no home-court advantage. The Panthers played hard but finished winless, dropping games by narrow margins to both Colstrip and Florence-Carlton.
