Free admission to annual Boulder Music and Arts fest Saturday

Fairies dance to the music of Brigid Reedy and her younger brother, “Johnny Guitar,” at the annual Fairy and Wizard Festival at Tizer Gardens and Arboretum in Jefferson City on June 29.

It will be a day of music and food at the 12th Annual Boulder Chamber of Commerce Music and Arts Festival at Veterans Park in Boulder on Sept. 7. Admission is free to the event, which lasts from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Boulder residents MT-CAN open the festival at 10 a.m. Whitehall’s John Montoya follows at 11 a.m., performing a little country and a little rock, old and new, while singing and playing guitar.

The North Hill Trio from Helena will bring bluegrass to the stage beginning at 12:15 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. Backroad Betty, a trio of women from Montana, will play music that is best described as “Grassicana”: a combination of bluegrass and Americana.
