Clancy School plans upgrades

The Clancy School is planning several upgrades thanks to robust financing for the 2025-26 school year, though its final funding total depends on the ongoing Montana legislative session. 

At the Apr. 2 Clancy School Board meeting, Superintendent Daryl Mikesell projected a $2.95 million operating budget for 2025-26, and said the school will not need to seek mill increases. 

As a result of House Bill 15, signed into law by Governor Greg Gianforte Apr. 1, Clancy included a three percent inflation-driven increase in state funding for the school. The superintendent also expressed optimism about the passage of House Bill 252, The Student and Teacher Advancement for Results and Success (STARS) Act. To boost teacher attraction and retention, HB 252 would increase teachers’ minimum pay and expand housing options.
