JHS volleyball takes down Three Forks

The combination of a three-set win and some nasty weather gave the Jefferson High volleyball squad a light week as they head toward this weekend’s Smack Down in Big Rock tournament in Boulder.

Against Three Forks, Jefferson jumped out to a 6-3 lead only to see the Wolves tie the first set at 9. But from there, it was all Panthers: A pair of kills by Mykala Edmisten put the Panthers up 24-13 before they closed it out, 25-15.

In the second set, the Wolves took the first two points. The teams traded runs: First the Panthers with a 8-1 spurt, then the Wolves answering to pull to 11-10.  A kill by Kylie Marks put the Panthers up 12-10 and started a Panther run that would make it 18-12. A kill by Dakota Edmisten  brought it to 21-18, then the Panthers held on for a 25-21 win.
