I-15 crash blocks traffic south of Basin

Montana Highway Patrol Officer Jade Shope surveys the scene of a crash on I-15 south of Basin on Aug. 8. According to Boulder-Bull Mountain Volunteer Fire Departments, the truck was driving south while pulling a car on a trailer when the driver lost control. The truck and the trailer rolled and caught fire. Southbound traffic was halted for a few hours until the scene was cleared. Bull Mountain VFD Chief Cory Kirsch said the driver was “banged up a little.” Units from Basin VFD, Boulder Volunteer Ambulance, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Police and the Montana Department of Transportation also responded. The cause of the crash was not available by press time.
